Family History Research

Every research project is different. It is recommended that you contact me so I will understand the scope of your project.  My time is for research, information analysis & report preparation, with recommendations for future research.

Other expenses may be incurred, but it depends on what needs to be done for your project. Some examples of these expenses include travel expenses, photocopies, photographs, vital record fees, translation services, institutional entrance fees (unless I am already a member and have free entry) & postage.

Once you have decided to have me research for you, the work will commence upon the receipt of the retainer and a signed agreement.

     $30.00 per hour (minimum 5 hours) plus costs

     Includes digital copies of records, detailed report of research and discoveries. Records and     documents ordered from other archives or government entities are billed at cost.

     Paper Copies – $.25 each (includes shipping)
     Document Retrieval – $12.00 each

Family History Photography

I will take photographs of gravestones/cemeteries, houses, churches, schools, places of employment and other sites connected to your family history, within a 100 mile radius of Salt Lake City, Utah.  I charge $20 per hour plus mileage. Photographs will be supplied as digital images. If prints are required, printing and postage will be billed at cost.

Family History Scanning and Organizing

Do you have a box of old photographs, or albums that need to be digitized? Organized? Wondering the best way to share with other family members.  Then let me help. For $25 per hour, I will scan your family history photos and upload them to an Internet site.  This includes a CD, which will be mailed to you.  Generally, 30-60 photos can be scanned per hour depending on DPI desired.  Photos will usually need to be cropped and adjusted during the process.

Bottomline ... 

I will agree with you, in advance on the maximum number of hours work for which you wish to pay. I will also obtain your agreement in advance to any chargeable expenses. In this way, the final bill will always be under your control.
