My grandma always said that the family moved to Michigan with some or perhaps all of the fishing tugs. I'm not sure what the Ambassador Bridge looked like in 1891. I remember the Kloskas name and think they visited the Brien family near Ridgetown. My grandmother's parents were Lydia Wood and Fred Fenningsdorf.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343534366640358537.post-17255212023158762712020-12-06T15:28:38.523-07:002020-12-06T15:28:38.523-07:00I believe I am descended from Roswell Roberts and ...I believe I am descended from Roswell Roberts and his first wife (unknown), originally from Sandisfield, MA, but having moved to Nelson Twsp., Halton, Ontario. I have taken a DNA test but I have yet to find someone from this line so that I can determine for sure if he is my ancestor. I do not tweet. Hattie and Fred (my great grandfather) were siblings. I have been trying to find out more about Hattie and Fred. John was 21 when he married and had a brother Charles (age 2) on the 1870 Census in Evergreen Twp, Montcalm County, MI. Parents were Mark S and Julia Ann Stewart. While no connection has yet been found between the two Dismals, the possibility that James Parker could have come from North Carolina and brought the name "Dismal" with him for his new locale is certainly intriguing. I'm amazed at the new collections they are digitizing and putting online--the New York land records for example. I would also recommend google books. I found "An Early Christmas Gift" in there one night and stayed up late to write about it. It is so great to have these records available. He was wrapped in a blanket and place in an old well.

Also I remember a fire at the Huron Milling Company in HB when I was about 10?; it was caused by an explosion in the powerhouse. Dad lost a good friend that night. I still remember it quite vividly...it was my first experiences with such a tragedy and left an indelible impression on me.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12946929631261993503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343534366640358537.post-42125259994125750402011-03-24T22:55:43.997-06:002011-03-24T22:55:43.997-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12946929631261993503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343534366640358537.post-30108040011530650252011-03-15T06:45:14.870-06:002011-03-15T06:45:14.870-06:00You probably got these from my dad. You are right about the similarities between your sister and Grandma.

As for the picnic picture, Aunt Ruthie and Aunt Bea have a great story about this one too. I don't have time to type it out, but I will do soon.

We should look at a way to integrate the stories with Todd's photos, preferably online!

MelanieAndrew's Mommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08796894165937441269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343534366640358537.post-9908781690583780612011-03-11T03:37:45.087-07:002011-03-11T03:37:45.087-07:00Good job Amy!:)Good job Amy!:)Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12946929631261993503noreply@blogger.com
