Caro, Jan. 17. - Mrs. Henry Bender, 52, well known Caro resident, died Wednesday at the family home near Caro. She was a member of the Evangelical church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Helen Bender; four step-sons, Elmer of Bad Axe; Irving, of Caro, Rev. D. F. Bender, of Flint; David, Caro; two step-daughters, Mrs. Druit Capling, and Mr.s Allah Schrader of Caro.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the home, and at the Evangelical church at noon, directed by the pastor, Rev., A. C. DeVries. Burial will be in Ubly.

Henry Bender, 71, of Caro died Tuesday afternoon of flu and erysipelas. He is survived by his widow, four sons and three daughters. The deceased is a brother of Mrs. Fred Volz of this place. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Volz and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Volz were at his bedside when the end came.

George J. Webb, Shelby, Mont., announces the marriage of his daughter, Miss Helen Shirley Webb, to Shirley K. Bankson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Bankson, Port Huron. Elder Frank W. Bailey of the Latter Day Saints church read the service this morning in the Bankson home, Stone street, before a small company of relatives.

Attendants were the groom's sister, Miss June Bankson, and Burns Holm, Birmingham, Mich.

Mr. and Mrs. Bankson are on a wedding trip which wlll take them to Norfolk, Va., to visit the groom's brother, Grant Bankson. They will reutn to live in their new home on Moak street.

Bible class No. 1 of Latter Day Saints church, met in the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bailey, Blaine, Tuesday evening. George Ritchie, J.N. Muir, Dr. Robert Brown, and Tennyson Summers, members of a quartet sant. Mr. and Mr.s Arthur Nye, and Ruby Lohr, a musical trio, played. Mrs. George Ritchie, Miss Lillian Edgerton won prizes. Luncheon was served for 42 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Provost will entertain the class June 11.
